Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 28, 2026

PortWatcher is built with a "Privacy First" philosophy. As a developer tool that runs locally on your machine, we believe your data should stay exactly where it belongs: on your Mac.

1. No Data Collection

PortWatcher does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, telemetry, or usage data. We do not have servers, and the application does not make any network requests to us or any third party.

2. Local Execution

All port scanning and process identification tasks are performed locally on your machine using standard macOS system commands (like lsof). The results are displayed in real-time and are not saved to any persistent storage, cloud service, or external database.

3. System Access

PortWatcher requires standard permissions to view active network connections and system processes. This information is used solely to provide the application's core functionality—identifying which processes are listening on local ports—and is never shared or exported.

4. No Analytics or Telemetry

We do not use any analytics services (like Google Analytics or Mixpanel) or crash reporting tools that send data over the internet. If the app crashes, the crash log stays on your Mac within the standard macOS Console app.

5. Third-Party Services

PortWatcher does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or trackers. There are no "Login" features, and no account is required to use the application.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
